The large-scale remodel of this stately colonial home included two distinct additions both overlooking lovely wooded acreage. The owners were looking for unique features in the additions; yet wanted compatibility with the rest of the home.

The focal point of the “east wing” addition was an extensive master bedroom suite that included a Mediterranean style bath and spa, his and hers walk in closets and a full exercise room. Off of an open hall, leading past the bath and walk in closets, is the bedroom. The custom rosette ceiling with theatre rim lighting is distinctively impressive yet warm and inviting. French style casement windows invite the serenity of nature adding a peaceful, down-to-earth feel to the luxury suite. A remote start gas fireplace and built-in entertainment center make it cozy for any time of the year. Off the master bedroom is an exercise room with a walk-out bay window and doors opening to a newly constructed bluestone patio. The master bath with Mediterranean motif and floor to ceiling marble embodies tasteful luxury. A sitting room, two guest bedrooms and three baths were added to the second floor above the master bedroom suite

The expansive great room or “west wing” addition, built off of the home’s existing kitchen, complements the east wing. Multiple skylights in the vaulted ceiling provide plenty of light during the day, and concealed low voltage strip lighting accents the dramatic lines and beams. The addition allows for a formal dining room, entertainment area with wet bar and sitting area.  The beautiful, hardwood oak floor accentuates the natural feeling of the surrounding view. Like the east wing, the west wing boasts windows all around. Transom windows over the floor to ceiling casement windows add character to the design and French patio doors open to yet another bluestone patio.

To the owners delight, the elegant and unique east and west wing additions complement and enhance the stately character of the original home.
