We invite you to take a moment to learn more about what the Carmel team brings to your remodeling project… and their communities!

The usual stress connected with a remodeling project was totally absent because of the measure of TRUST I had in Carmel Builders. … They not only care about what they lay their hands to, but they care about the customer, and they care about each other.”

Louis Weiher

Project Development

Louis joined the Carmel Builders team in 2003. With his background in project management, he believes in attention to detail and focus on the little things that turn a simple idea into your dream remodeling project. He is our “solution specialist” – dedicated to helping our clients’ make informed and excited decisions.

Louis is an avid sports fan and is especially fanatic about the Packers (of course) Milwaukee Panthers basketball, and World Cup Soccer. He spends his time away from the office pursing many activities, including golf, fishing, ballroom dancing, hiking and taking abuse as a youth soccer referee.

Linda Kons

Office Manager

Joining Carmel Builders in 2004, Linda is the newest member of our office team. She brings a wide range of experiences from teaching, working with engineers, marketing and working with non-profits, as well as community leadership roles. Linda is enjoying being a first time Grandmother and awaiting the arrival of her second and third grandchildren in the spring of 2006.

Carmel Builders is currently remodeling the Kons’ kitchen. They are thrilled with the transformation and are very comfortable leaving their home in the skilled hands of the Carmel Builders team.

Joe Martin

Expediter-Quality Control

Our customers can rest easy with Joe overseeing quality control. One of our most seasoned employees, Joe joined Carmel Builders as a lead carpenter in 1988. He brought on board second-generation experience with custom building and remodeling. He is truly a master carpenter.

Joe enjoys “working with our diverse clients to fulfill their best expectations and final results.” Every day brings a new challenge for him. “This is not just a job, it’s a vocation. I just love it. I want our customers to be completely happy with our work.” Our many repeat customers will attest to Joe’s unfailing dedication and passion for doing things right!

Joe’s many interests include a passion for the outdoors; as fisherman, hunter, and Inland/Great Lakes trapper education instructor for the state of Wisconsin. Joe has served his community as a scoutmaster for over 20 years, a first responder and as a 28 year veteran volunteer firefighter. The father of two sons and two daughters, he also has five beautiful grandchildren!

Brian Jordan

Certified Lead Carpenter

Brian’s commitment to excellence is evident with every project he works on. A loyal team member since 1987, he consistently demonstrates to clients the values of Carmel Builders: integrity, respect, professionalism and top quality workmanship.

The same values are reflected in how Brian spends his time outside of the office as an EMT, volunteer firefighter (19 years), part-time police officer and devoted father of 4. An Eagle Scout, Brian was assistant scoutmaster for several years and is the current assistant pack master for his stepson’s scout pack. His work with youth also includes assisting the Campbellsport Wresting Club with practices and their annual tournament. A true sportsman, Brian is a member of the Ashford Sportsman Club, the Wisconsin Trapper’s Association and Walleyes for Tomorrow.

Art Cartes

Certified Lead Carpenter

Art has more than 15 years of experience as a carpenter. When he joined Carmel Builders in 2001, we soon recognized his innate ability to make our clients feel comfortable. He exudes confidence, efficiency and professionalism. It’s no surprise that Art says problem solving is one of things he enjoys most about his work. He patiently evaluates challenges and offers solid solutions. Art is our safety officer, and is currently sharing his knowledge with others as a NARI safety class instructor.

Art enjoys traveling with his wife; especially out west where they can hike mountain trails and revel in nature. Every opportunity he has will take him outdoors fishing or hunting with his teenage nephews. Giving back to the community, Art works on restoring the habitat for wildlife and leading field trips for children as a member of Wings Over Wisconsin, a conservation organization. He is affiliated with the German Shorthair Club of WI assisting the organization with hunt tests and their annual dog show. In fact, his own two German Shorthairs accompany him on hunting trips.

Jared Cottrell

Carpenter

Since graduating with high honors from Madison Area Technical College in 2001, Jared was employed as a rough framing carpenter. Jared came on board January 2005 after he stopped by a project site and introduced himself to Joe Martin. Jared enjoys the variety and creativity of remodeling and the satisfaction he receives from happy homeowners when the job is done.

Jared loves the outdoors, like most of our team! Hiking, fishing, bow hunting and duck hunting with Cedar, his Labrador retriever, are some of his favorite activities. Jared puts spending time with his new wife, Amy, at the top of his “favorite things to do” list!  Jared is also a volunteer firefighter for Saukville.

Joe Weiher

Assistant Carpenter

In June of 2004, Tom and Barbara’s youngest son, Joe, joined the Carmel Builders team. He brings to the team a sincere eagerness to learn, a team mentality and great sense of humor!  In 2004, Joe completed a “Fundamentals of AUTOCAD” course at UW – Waukesha and in March of 2005 he received his certificate for the Milwaukee NARI Preliminary Remodeling Orientation (P.R.O.) course. Currently enrolled in a C.P.R. course, he will learn how to handle emergencies on the job.

A natural athlete, Joe loves sports especially golfing, musky fishing and snowboarding. When you don’t spot Joe on the ski hill, golf course, or lake, you’re likely to find him curled up with his most recent favorite book… he has a passion for reading and loves to talk about the books he’s read. Joe is a huge fan of the Packers and all the state college basketball teams.

Alex Peters

Student/Apprentice

Alex has known Tom and Barbara Weiher for most of his life. During summer breaks while in high school, he worked with the Carmel Team. In 2005, after graduating, he joined the ranks as a full-time employee. Alex will take time off in September 2006 when he becomes a full time student in the carpentry program at Waukesha County Technical College. After completing the year long course he will rejoin Carmel Builders and enter the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) apprenticeship program. Our team appreciates Alex’s hard work ethic and eagerness to learn.

Away from work, Alex is a dedicated fisherman and sports enthusiast. You can also find Alex working hard coaching his brother’s basketball team. Alex is committed, and shows tremendous passion for all of his interests.
